Yep. Get a maintenance contract. Then your covered. It may cost you 25% of the cost of your RMX, but better than paying 100% for a new one. Also with a maintenance contract you might be able to get new cards for free when you upgrade.
As far as a good RMX person, Polycom keeps that information very close. RMX engineers are in Israel and the good ones located state side are in Tier 3/4 support and probably not allowed to discuss various "methods" of recovery and design as that information is probably covered under a non disclosure agreement of some kind.
